Donor FAQs
Quick, clear answers to common questions about giving to Sustainable Market Women Foundation.
What does my donation support?
Your donation supports SMWF’s mission to build sustainable economic systems for market women—so women can move from survival to sustainability through access to finance, skills, market infrastructure, and fair market opportunities.
Can I donate to a specific program?
Yes. When a priority program option is available, you can choose to direct your gift to that initiative. If no program is selected, your donation supports SMWF as a whole.
If a selected program becomes unavailable or fully funded, SMWF may redirect funds to a closely aligned initiative to ensure your gift still creates meaningful impact.
Will I receive a receipt?
Yes. Once your donation is successfully processed, a confirmation receipt is sent to the email address you provide at checkout.
If you don’t see the email within a few minutes, check your spam/junk folder. If you still can’t locate it, email smwfglobal@gmail.com.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. SMWF provides a donation receipt for your records. Please consult your tax advisor for guidance specific to your situation.
Unless otherwise stated, no goods or services are provided in exchange for a contribution.
How secure is my payment?
Donations are processed through secure, PCI-compliant payment providers. SMWF does not store your full credit or debit card number on our servers.
Do you store my payment information?
No. Payment details are handled by the payment processor. SMWF receives only the information needed to confirm and record your donation (for example: your name, email, amount, and transaction reference).
Can I donate monthly?
Yes. If recurring giving is available on the donate page, you can choose a monthly contribution. Monthly donations help provide stable, predictable support for long-term impact.
Are donations refundable?
Donations are generally non-refundable because they are applied immediately toward charitable work.
Refunds may be considered only for duplicate charges, processing errors, or unauthorized transactions, and requests must typically be submitted within 14 days of the donation date.
What if I made a mistake (wrong amount or duplicate donation)?
Please email smwfglobal@gmail.com as soon as possible with:
- Your name
- The email used at checkout
- The donation date
- The amount and what needs to be corrected
If eligible under our Donation Policy, we will assist with the appropriate next steps.
Will SMWF share or sell my information?
No. SMWF does not sell, rent, or trade donor information. We use donor information only to process donations, issue receipts, maintain nonprofit records, and share mission-related updates (unless you opt out).
For details, review our Privacy Policy.
Will you contact me after I donate?
You may receive your donation receipt and occasional mission-related updates. You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails.
How can I get your annual report (New York registration)?
